So what are we to do? Well, as I'm sure most of you would agree, it means we need to plan ahead. Yes, as if we didn't have enough to do already, we're adding another task to the good ole' "To Do List". The task of planning your healthy meals and snacks ahead of time so you won't catch yourself in a situation with options that are now (hopefully) "off the menu".
Most of us have a health food store close to home. Some are more convenient than others depending on our location. For us in the Southern California we are lucky to have many options. One of my personal favorites, Trader Joe's. I've been shopping here for years. But buyer be ware...just because you're shopping at a 'health' food store don't assume everything is a good purchase. Below, Biggest Loser Resort Malibu Nutritionist Jessica Hummel gives us her top healthy 'on-the-go' snack options and reminds us of the importance of reading serving sizes.
